Plickers: An equitable learning tool

I have just been experimenting with an application for my iPhone called Plickers.  Plickers works well for gathering and recording responses from students.  Only the instructor needs a mobile device to "scan" customized cards of students.  Once the card is scanned, the response the student provides by altering the card letter to be scanned is recording into the application.  This makes it easier and efficient to gather information from students.  Plickers can be used as an interactive activity or an assessment.  The Plickers app is free and creates an environment where students can provide responses without fear or doubt caused by peers or instructors.  Here are some images from the application.
