Collaboration Vs. Cooperation

My professor and colleagues brought up the difference between collaboration and cooperation.  The difference is that cooperation is breaking up work and delegating tasks while collaboration is more of a synthesis of ideas working toward a goal.   It is important for technology to be collaborative workspaces so that ideas can be passed through networks and knowledge can be easily transferred.  Here are some examples of collaborative workspaces instructors can use in their working environments.
