The Insiders Guide to becoming a Rapid E-learning Pro
There are many tips I wasn't aware of when designing an e-learning course that also helps out with instruction. Here are some of the tips I found.
-Know your learners-understand where your learners are coming from and design instruction of where there at and where they need to be by the end of instruction.
-Use a background that creates a visual connection to your content, such as colors that relate to your content. Ex. Fire presentation=red and white colors
-use up to two font max-one for the title and one for content.
-pick shapes that connect to feeling of the course-lines=direction, circles highlight a point, and square or triangles combine the two.
-make sure images matches your design elements.
-take account of interface. Don't rely on default buttons and settings.
Three more points I want to highlight include:
1.)How do learners apply skills learned.
2.) Make interactivity relevant-no jazzing up design.
3.)Let learners explore-decision based activities that lead to trial and error.
4.)Provide feedback to their responses.
These tips for e-learning designing relate to my overall success of my pedagogy. The more you take account of all the points in designing e-learning content the better it helps to create meaningful learning experiences.
